Retail pump-price signals derived from Statistics Canada's monthly average retail gasoline, diesel and household heating fuel prices: cents per litre by city/province and fuel type since 1979, with month-on-month and year-on-year changes, 3-month momentum, 12-month annualized change volatility, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing 12-month baseline, naive-drift 1-month forecasts, per-month cross-city momentum ranks, and each city's spread versus the national average. The monetizable signals layer on top of raw StatCan retail fuel prices. Raw series: StatCan via the CKAN open-data portal (monthly average retail prices for gasoline and fuel oil).

Per entity x week: price, deviation from the national average in cents and percent, week-over-week, 4-week and 52-week momentum, a documented 0-100 freight-cost pressure score with per-week ranks, premium/discount/spike/drop/52-week-record flags, and the week-level PADD price spread. The freight-cost complement to the gasoline dispersion panel: diesel moves delivery economics while gasoline moves consumer pump budgets. Weekly US retail diesel price intelligence from the keyless U.S. Energy Information Administration Petroleum Navigator history tables: one row per week per region (US average + the 5 PADDs — East Coast, Midwest, Gulf Coast, Rocky Mountain, West Coast), 1994 to present. Each row carries the published No 2 diesel retail price ($/gal), gap-aware week-over-week / 4-week / 52-week changes (null when a holiday week was skipped, never annualized), the PADD's premium or discount vs the national average, the price's position in its trailing-52-week range, a documented 0-100 diesel-cost pressure score (50% winsorized YoY momentum + 50% range position, min-max over each region's history), pressure quartile tiers, per-week PADD price and pressure ranks, and 52-week-record-high / sharp weekly move (>=5%) flags. Method: melt EIA's wide month-x-week tables to a tidy panel with validated ISO week dates; momentum requires exact 7/28/364-day spacing. Caveats: prices are weekly averages of retail outlets surveyed Monday (not tradable spot prices); the score is a relative history gauge of diesel-cost pressure for shipping and logistics, not a price forecast. Monthly US energy-price outlook panel from the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), 2022-01 onward: published history spliced with EIA's modeled forecast for six consumer-facing prices — Brent and WTI crude spot (USD/bbl), US retail regular-grade gasoline and on-highway diesel (USD/gal, including taxes), Henry Hub natural gas spot (USD/MMBtu), and US residential electricity (cents/kWh). Each row carries an is_forecast flag and forecast_horizon_months measured from the STEO vintage (the modeling-completion date printed in the release), plus 1-month and 12-month percent changes over the spliced series. Upstream: EIA STEO Table 2 (Nominal Energy Prices), downloaded keyless as the monthly STEO_m.xlsx workbook. Method caveats: STEO forecasts are EIA's modeled outlook, not observations — every refresh mints a new snapshot whose vintage column identifies the release, so the snapshot history is the vintage archive; EIA revises history with each release; the history/forecast break follows EIA's vintage month (the shaded break in the published table is approximate). One row per month x commodity x USA; in-window nulls fail loudly, never imputed. Who joins this: online shops join fuel prices on year_month to model delivery costs and discretionary demand; subscription businesses test whether gasoline-price spikes lead churn; sales teams weight freight-exposed pipeline on the diesel outlook.

Monthly average retail fuel prices (table 18-10-0001-01) from Statistics Canada: cents per litre for regular and premium unleaded gasoline, diesel, and household heating fuel across 19 geographies (Canada plus 18 cities from St. John's to Victoria, including Whitehorse and Yellowknife), 1990-01 to the present. Caveats: only currently published (non-terminated) series are included — full-service station prices were discontinued; series start dates differ (Canada regular gasoline begins 2005-12, most city series 1990-01); 6 geography×fuel cells have no active series and stay missing; prices are kept in cents per litre exactly as published; the latest month is preliminary and may be revised. Monthly retail fuel-price signals derived from EIA data via FRED (regular gasoline and on-highway diesel, $/gal): month-on-month and year-on-year changes, 30-month change volatility, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing-12-month baseline, drift forecasts, per-month cross-series volatility ranks, the gasoline-diesel spread with a 3-year z-score, and pump-shock (>+15% in 3 months) and expensive (>$4/gal) flags. The US-side companion to the Canada fuel signals and the retail-price complement to wholesale crude. Country codes normalized to ISO alpha-3 (USA).
