Mobile cellular subscriptions (per 100 people)
Mobile cellular telephone subscriptions per 100 inhabitants for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). The World Bank publishes the indicator in the World Development Indicators from the ITU World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Database. The measure counts subscriptions to a public mobile telephone service offering voice communications over cellular technology: postpaid subscriptions plus active prepaid accounts (used in the last three months). It excludes data cards/USB modems, public mobile data services, private trunked mobile radio, telepoint, radio paging and telemetry. Values can exceed 100 because many people hold more than one active subscription. Pairs with the individuals-using-the-internet dataset (mobile access vs internet adoption). Values are null where national statistics are unavailable and are never interpolated. Units: subscriptions per 100 people.
