    Global digital-adoption signals (World Bank connectivity)

    Global digital-adoption signals from World Bank connectivity indicators (keyless API, annual, ~1990 -> 2024, 200+ economies): Internet use (% of population), mobile subscriptions and fixed broadband subscriptions (per 100 people), with 10-year changes, OLS adoption-velocity trends, 3-sigma anomaly flags, 5-year linear-extrapolation forecasts, per-year cross-country ranks, a 5-year catch-up momentum gauge, the digital-divide gap versus the global median, and a connectivity-laggard flag. The first tech/digital-domain value-added set: which countries are catching up and which are falling behind. World Bank API terms permit non-commercial use only — commercial_use flagged 'no' in the UI. All rows normalized to ISO alpha-3 country codes so they join cleanly with every other global dataset. Raw data: World Bank (via ITU).

    Individuals with basic or above basic digital skills (annual)

    Annual share of individuals aged 16 to 74 with at least basic overall digital skills, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset isoc_sk_dskl_i21 ("Individuals' level of digital skills (from 2021 onwards)"), filtered to the headline indicator I_DSK2_BAB ('Individuals with basic or above basic overall digital skills'), unit PC_IND (percent of individuals), total population 16-74. Each row is one (year, country). Method: Eurostat's ICT survey scores five competence areas (information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, problem solving); a respondent counts as 'basic or above' when all five areas reach at least basic level. This is the EU Digital Decade headline target series. Units: percent of individuals. Caveats: the ICT survey runs the digital-skills module every two years, so observations are biennial (2021, 2023, 2025, ...) and the connector is declared yearly with no-op refreshes in off years; the 2021-onwards methodology is not comparable with the pre-2021 digital-skills series; Kosovo (XK) is dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule; the EU, EU27_2020 and EA aggregates are included as published. Coverage: ~38 geographic units after the geo rule, 2021 to the present. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (year, country_code). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), year. Cadence: refreshed yearly; Eurostat updates the ICT indicators in spring.     Annual share of individuals aged 16 to 74 who used the internet in the last 3 months, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset isoc_ci_ifp_iu ('Individuals - internet use'), filtered to the headline indicator I_IU3 ('Last internet use: in last 3 months'), unit PC_IND (percent of individuals), total population 16-74. Each row is one (year, country). Method: Eurostat's annual survey on ICT usage in households and by individuals, self-reported by national statistical offices; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: percent of individuals. Caveats: the ICT survey questionnaire was substantially revised in 2021, so pre-2021 values are only broadly comparable; the UK and Kosovo (XK) are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule; the EU, EU27_2020, EU28, EA and historical aggregates are included as published. Coverage: ~42 geographic units after the geo rule, 2002 to the present, annual.
