US state expansion breadth, diffusion indexes
Monthly national breadth of US state economic expansion: the Philadelphia Fed's 1-month and 3-month NET diffusion indexes (percent of the 50 states whose coincident index rose minus percent whose fell; -100 = every state declining, +100 = every state rising), with broad-expansion/expansion/even-split/contraction/broad-contraction breadth bands. A companion to the state-level coincident-activity panel; join on month for a national cycle overlay. Keyless official .xls download. Who joins this: a sales team or subscription business joins (month) to weight state-level signals by how broad the national expansion is.
