US multiple-jobholder strain panel (BLS CPS, monthly)
Monthly US household-strain panel, 1994-01 onward: BLS Current Population Survey multiple jobholders (level in thousands, LNS12026619), the BLS-published multiple-jobholder rate as a percent of employed (LNS12026620), and total employment (LNS12000000) — keyless via the BLS Public Data API v2. Carries MoM/YoY changes, deviation from the trailing-12-month mean, a documented 0-100 household_strain_score (trailing-60-month z composite; higher = more strain), an elevated/normal/easing strain_regime, and a trailing-60-month record-high flag. 2025-10 is absent from all three series (BLS: 'Data unavailable due to the 2025 lapse in appropriations') — a documented, never-imputed hole. The BLS-published rate is cross-checked every month against 100*level/employed (<= 0.06 pp). Who joins this: subscription businesses read strain_regime for churn-risk regimes; online shops use the rate's YoY change as a discretionary-demand softness signal; sales teams weight outreach by the strain score.

| Colonne | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| date | date | Reference month, first of month (panel join key). One row per month, 1994-01 onward, no gaps except 2025-10 — absent from all three series (BLS: 'Data unavailable due to the 2025 lapse in appropriations'), a documented, never-imputed upstream hole. (unit: date) |
| year_month | string | Calendar month as YYYY-MM. (unit: string) |
| country | string | Country name (shared normalization layer). (unit: string) |
| country_code | string | ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code (USA). (unit: string) |
| mjh_level_k | float | Multiple jobholders (BLS LNS12026619): employed persons holding two or more jobs, Current Population Survey, seasonally adjusted. The binding level series. (unit: thousands of persons) |
| employed_k | float | Total employment level (BLS LNS12000000), Current Population Survey, seasonally adjusted. Denominator of the rate identity. (unit: thousands of persons) |
| mjh_rate_pct | float | Multiple jobholders as a percent of employed (BLS LNS12026620), Current Population Survey, seasonally adjusted. BLS-published rate; the binding series — the panel grid is its publication calendar. (unit: percent) |
| rate_identity_resid_pp | float | BLS-published rate minus 100*mjh_level_k/employed_k, in percentage points. Fail-loud gate at 0.06 pp: any breach means upstream ID drift. (unit: percentage points) |
| mjh_rate_mom_pp | float | Month-over-month change in the multiple-jobholder rate (null for 1994-01). (unit: percentage points) |
| mjh_rate_yoy_pp | float | Year-over-year change in the multiple-jobholder rate (null for the first 12 months). (unit: percentage points) |
| mjh_level_yoy_pct | float | Year-over-year percent change in the multiple-jobholder level (null for the first 12 months). (unit: percent) |
| mjh_rate_vs_12m_avg_pp | float | Deviation of the rate from its trailing 12-month mean, in percentage points (null for the first 12 months). (unit: percentage points) |
| household_strain_score | float | Documented 0-100 composite: clip(50 + 25 * mean(trailing-60-month z of mjh_rate_pct, trailing-60-month z of mjh_level_yoy_pct), 0, 100). Higher = more household income strain. Null until 60 months of history exist (1999-01 onward), and null whenever a trailing window has zero variance (z undefined). (unit: score 0-100) |
| strain_regime | string | elevated (score >= 65), normal (35-65), or easing (< 35) — the same cut convention as statcan_household_credit_intel. Null when the score is null. (unit: string) |
| record_high_60m_flag | integer | 1 when the rate is at its trailing-60-month maximum, 0 otherwise. (unit: flag) |
| row_hash | string | Deterministic 16-hex sha256 of month + rate + level (idempotency key). (unit: string) |
