  • Eurostat

EU27 trade value by partner, monthly

Monthly imports and exports of the EU27 (from 2020) in million euro, by partner, for total trade in goods (SITC Rev.4 all products). Eurostat dataset ext_st_eu27_2020sitc ('EU27 (from 2020) trade by SITC product group'). Each row is one (month, partner, flow): trade value in million euro. Method: Eurostat compiles customs and Intrastat declarations reported by EU member states; partner 'CN_X_HK' is China excluding Hong Kong, and aggregates (EU27_2020, EXT_EU27_2020, EFTA, ASEAN, ...) are included as published. Units: million euro. Caveats: recent months are provisional and revised as late declarations arrive; values are not seasonally adjusted. Coverage: EU27 trade with 56 partners, 2002-01 to the present, monthly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (month, partner_code, flow). Join keys: partner_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 for countries), month. Cadence: refreshed monthly; Eurostat updates the dataset around mid-month. Sample use: filter flow='imports' and partner_code='US' to track EU imports from the United States.

  • Eurostat

EU27 trade volume index by partner, monthly

Monthly imports and exports of the EU27 (from 2020) as volume indices (2021=100, unadjusted), by partner, for total trade in goods (SITC Rev.4 all products). Eurostat dataset ext_st_eu27_2020sitc ('EU27 (from 2020) trade by SITC product group'). Each row is one (month, partner, flow): the volume index. Method: Eurostat compiles customs and Intrastat declarations reported by EU member states and deflates values into volume indices; partner 'CN_X_HK' is China excluding Hong Kong, and aggregates (EU27_2020, EXT_EU27_2020, EFTA, ASEAN, ...) are included as published. Units: index points, 2021=100. Caveats: unadjusted for seasonality and calendar effects; recent months are provisional and revised as late declarations arrive. Coverage: EU27 trade with 56 partners, 2002-01 to the present, monthly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (month, partner_code, flow). Join keys: partner_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 for countries), month. Cadence: refreshed monthly. Sample use: compare the imports volume index for partner_code='CN_X_HK' against 'US' to track real import growth by origin.

  • Global Terms-of-Trade Signals (derived)

    Sub-Saharan African terms-of-trade signals (price-competitiveness gauges)

Annual terms-of-trade signals derived from the IMF DataMapper (terms-of-trade index, 2010 = 100, 47 Sub-Saharan African economies, 2004 ->): 1-year and 3-year changes, 30-year change volatility, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing-10-year baseline, naive-drift 1-year forecasts, per-year cross-country volatility ranks, 10-year index z-scores, 5-year percent shifts, and sustained improvement / deterioration / shock-year flags. The global price-competitiveness companion to the trade-flow signals. Country codes normalized to verified ISO alpha-3. Raw data: International Monetary Fund (DataMapper, keyless API).

  • Trade Balance Signals (derived)

US trade balance signals (deficit tracker, export/import momentum, anomalies, forecasts)

Signals derived from FRED's US international-trade series: 30-period annualized volatility of changes, 3-month momentum, year-over-year level change (balance series cross zero, so YoY is a level change, not a percent), 3-sigma anomaly flags, naive-drift 1-month forecasts, a per-date cross-series volatility rank, and a monthly trade-deficit tracker (positive = deficit) mapped onto every row's month. Covers BOPGSTB (monthly trade balance, goods & services), EXPGS/IMPGS (quarterly real exports/imports of goods & services) and NETEXP (quarterly real net exports). All rows are normalized to country_code USA so they join cleanly with US macro data. Raw series: Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED); underlying data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

  • US Trade-Price Signals (derived)

US trade price signals (import/export prices, terms of trade, China price trend spread)

Monthly US trade-price signals derived from FRED: BLS import and export price indices for all commodities plus the China-origin import price index, with 1-month and year-on-year percent changes, 30-month annualized change volatility, 3-month momentum, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing 12-month baseline, naive-drift 1-month forecasts, a per-month cross-series volatility rank, the terms of trade (export/import prices) and the China-vs-world import price trend spread. All rows are normalized to country_code USA so they join cleanly with US macro data. Raw series: Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED); underlying survey: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, International Price Program.

  • USDA Foreign Agricultural Service

Grains supply, use and trade by country (USDA FAS PSD)

Beginning/ending stocks, imports, exports, domestic consumption (total, feed, food/seed/industrial) and total supply/distribution (thousand MT) for 9 grain commodities (wheat, rice milled, corn, sorghum, barley, millet, oats, rye, mixed grain) across ~160 countries plus aggregates, marketing years 1960/61 to the present, from USDA FAS PSD Online (https://apps.fas.usda.gov/psdonline/downloads/psd_grains_pulses_csv.zip). Each row is one (commodity, country, marketing year, attribute). TY-prefixed attributes are on the October-September trade year (including imports from the U.S.); all others follow the local marketing year. Method: USDA's official PSD forecasts, reviewed monthly by an interagency committee chaired by the World Agricultural Outlook Board; historical rows carry the vintage (vintage_year, vintage_month) of the PSD release that last revised them. Units: thousand metric tons. Caveats: marketing years start in different calendar months per country/commodity — never compare market_year labels across countries as calendar years; TY trade-year attributes are not directly comparable to marketing-year attributes; EU member states appear only as EU aggregates (EU15 before 1999, EU from 1999); the latest 1-2 marketing years are forecasts subject to revision; country codes are FIPS 10-4 mapped to ISO alpha-3 (see connector docs for historical entities). Coverage: worldwide, 1960/61 to present, yearly (marketing-year) granularity. Provenance: USDA FAS PSD Online keyless bulk CSV, U.S. public domain — please cite the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service. Primary key: (commodity_code, country_code, market_year, attribute). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), market_year. Cadence: refreshed monthly (WASDE cycle); new marketing-year data typically appears within days of the monthly release.
