Monthly US regional manufacturing sentiment, 2001-07 onward: the NY Fed Empire State and Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey headline diffusion indexes (seasonally adjusted), plus 3-month moving averages, expansion flags, the inter-survey spread, a composite sentiment index with a documented contraction/soft/solid/strong regime. Complements (no column overlap) the live state_cycle_signals dataset (Philadelphia Fed state coincident activity indexes — a different survey family) and confidence_signals (OECD business/consumer confidence). Upstream: Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Philadelphia via FRED keyless fredgraph.csv (GACDISA066MSFRBNY, GACDFSA066MSFRBPHI). One row per month x USA; in-window nulls fail loudly, never imputed. Who joins this: B2B industrial suppliers join bookings on year_month, logistics operators join freight volumes, credit risk teams use the regime as a manufacturing-cycle feature.
