Value-added country-year panel of the FAO Global Forest Resources Assessment 2025 via Our World in Data (keyless grapher CSVs, CC BY 4.0): forest area in hectares, annual net change in hectares and as a share of forest area, 1990-2025, for 230+ countries — with net-loss flags and cumulative change since the 1990 baseline. The deforestation ledger for supply-chain, ESG and sovereign-risk models; joins on (country_code, year) with the catalog's other country-year panels. Annual values between FRA assessment years are OWID linear interpolations of the FRA reports (per the series metadata).

Column	Type	Description
country_code	string	ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code, uppercase. OWID regional/income aggregates (OWID_* codes) and codeless entities are excluded.
country_name	string	Country name as published by Our World in Data.
year	integer	Reference year, 1990-2025. Annual values between FAO Forest Resources Assessment years are OWID linear interpolations of the FRA reports (per the series metadata), not observations.
forest_area_ha	float	Forest area in hectares: land under natural or planted stands of trees able to reach at least five meters in height in situ, whether productive or not; excludes tree stands in agricultural production systems (FAO definition). (unit: hectares)
annual_change_ha	float	Annual net change in forest area in hectares (afforestation + natural expansion minus deforestation). Null for 1990 (no prior year). (unit: hectares)
annual_change_share_pct	float	Annual net change in forest area as a percent of forest area. Null for 1990 (no prior year) and for zero-forest territories (undefined 0/0). (unit: percent)
net_loss_flag	integer	1 where the country-year is a net forest-loss year (annual change < 0), 0 where it is a net-gain year, null for 1990.
forest_change_since_1990_ha	float	Cumulative net change in forest area since the 1990 FRA baseline year, in hectares. Negative values are net deforestation since 1990. (unit: hectares)
forest_change_since_1990_pct	float	Cumulative net change in forest area since 1990 as a percent of the 1990 forest area. (unit: percent)
row_hash	string	Deterministic 12-hex row identity hash (country_code\|year).
