Median equivalised disposable income by age group (annual, EUR)

Annual median equivalised disposable income in euro, broken down by age group, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset ilc_di03 ('Mean and median income by age and sex'), filtered to statinfo=MED_EI ('Median equivalised income'), age=Y_LT65 ('Less than 65 years') / Y_GE65 ('65 years or over'), sex=T, unit=EUR (euro). It extends the headline dataset 'median-income-annual' (the age=TOTAL slice of the same table) and complements the by-sex breakdown slice. Each row is one (year, country, age group): the median equivalised disposable income for the under-65 and 65+ populations separately - the working-age median runs markedly above the 65+ median in every published country-year (the retirement income drop, e.g. DEU 2024: 28,851 vs 24,000 EUR). Method and caveats as the headline dataset; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule). Units: euro (EUR), nominal. Coverage: 45 geographic units after the geo rule, 1995 to the present, annual.
