Monthly New Housing Price Index (table 18-10-0205-01, headline 'Total (house and land)' series) from Statistics Canada: contractors' selling prices for new residential houses, specifications held constant between periods, for Canada and 27 census metropolitan areas. Index base December 2016 = 100, not seasonally adjusted. Coverage 1981-01 to the present for most geographies (Charlottetown from 1995-01; Guelph, Kelowna, Oshawa, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières and the Ottawa-Gatineau Quebec part from 2016-12 — genuine upstream gaps kept missing). Caveats: contractors' selling prices only — the index does not track the resale market; the latest month is occasionally revised.
