North America retail events calendar
Yearly calendar of North American retail events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day, Amazon Prime Day, back-to-school Labour Day anchor, US and Canadian Thanksgiving), 2015 to the present, for US and Canada. Each event row carries ML-ready countdown features: days to Christmas, days remaining in the year, and a holiday-season (Nov/Dec) flag. Holiday rules: US Thanksgiving = 4th Thursday of November (federal since 1941); Canadian Thanksgiving = 2nd Monday of October (1957 proclamation); Boxing Day = Dec 26; Prime Day dates curated from Amazon's announcements (multi-day spans recorded as event_date..event_end_date). No future-year rows: Prime Day dates are announced annually and added on the yearly refresh.
USDA AMS advertised retail food prices
Weekly advertised (flyer) retail prices for fresh produce, potatoes and onions from USDA AMS Specialty Crops Market News (National Conventional Summary). One row per item (commodity/variety/unit) per Friday report with this-week, last-week and last-year ad counts and weighted-average advertised prices (USD), plus ML-ready derived features: price relatives week-over-week and year-over-year (fresh-food advertised price index components), promotional intensity (ad-count WoW/YoY change, item share of total ads), and report-level category/organic mix. USDA public-domain data, transcribed from the official PDFs; two weekly snapshots (2026-01-23, 2026-01-30), grows as further reports are transcribed.
