Demographic Transition Signals (derived)
Yearly demographic-structure signals for 200+ economies (1960 ->, keyless World Bank API): 65+ and working-age population shares, urbanization, and fertility, with 10-year changes, OLS trend slopes, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing 5-year baseline, 5-year linear-extrapolation forecasts, cross-country ranks, old-age dependency ratios, aging-speed gauges, super-aged (>20% 65+) and demographic-dividend flags, urbanization momentum, and below-replacement fertility flags. All rows carry normalized ISO country codes so they join cleanly with other macro data. Raw data: World Bank, World Development Indicators.

Total population ages 0-14 as a percentage of the total population, for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). Population counts all residents regardless of legal status or citizenship. The World Bank publishes the indicator in the World Development Indicators from the United Nations Population Division's World Population Prospects (2024 Revision, or derived from male and female population). Pairs with the population-ages-65-and-above dataset: the two shares (plus the 15-64 residual) decompose the total population by age structure; declining child shares are the demographic side of the fertility decline. The 8-country panel is covered 2000-2025 with no upstream gaps observed; values are null where national statistics are unavailable and are never interpolated. Units: % of total population.
