Secure Internet servers (per 1 million people)
The number of distinct, publicly-trusted TLS/SSL certificates found in the Netcraft Secure Server Survey, attributed to the hosting country and expressed per 1 million people using World Bank population estimates, for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). It is the infrastructure-side companion of the connector's internet-users and fixed-broadband-subscriptions datasets: users and access on one side, the secure servers that terminate their connections on the other. The United States leads the panel by a wide margin (186,721 servers per million people in 2023, up from 156,949 in 2021) while China (1,508) and India (966) sit at the bottom - secure-hosting capacity is concentrated in a few economies, a genuine upstream phenomenon kept verbatim. Values are null only where Netcraft or population estimates are unavailable, and are never interpolated. Units: servers per 1 million people.
