Value-added panel of UNHCR's Refugee Population Statistics Database (keyless API, CC BY 4.0): year-end hosted stocks by country of asylum, 1951-2025, with the hosted-displaced total (UNHCR's cross-border 'People forced to flee' components), each host's share of the global hosted total, hosted persons per 100,000 population (World Bank WDI, 1960+), 10-year and 1-year changes, within-year hosting ranks, and host-burden flags. The Global Trends hosting lens for humanitarian funding and country risk; joins on iso3 with the catalog's other country panels.

Column	Type	Description
asylum_iso3	string	Country of asylum code as published by the UNHCR API (coa field). UNHCR uses legacy 3-letter codes (e.g. GFR for Germany); the true ISO3 is in the iso3 column.
iso3	string	True ISO alpha-3 code for the asylum country (API field coa_iso, verified present on every row); the join key to the catalog's other country panels and to the population column.
asylum_name	string	Country of asylum name as published by the UNHCR API (coa_name field).
region	string	UNHCR major area for the asylum country (API countries endpoint field majorArea, e.g. Africa, Asia, Europe).
year	integer	Reference year (1951-2025; year-end stocks; 2025 is the latest broadly covered year).
refugees	float	Refugees under UNHCR's mandate hosted in the country of asylum, year-end stock (UNHCR population group). (unit: persons)
asylum_seekers	float	Asylum-seekers with pending claims hosted in the country of asylum, year-end stock (UNHCR population group). (unit: persons)
idps	float	Internally displaced persons: reported as 0 on asylum rows (IDPs are attributed to the country of origin); kept verbatim. (unit: persons)
stateless	float	Stateless persons in the country of asylum, year-end stock (UNHCR population group). (unit: persons)
ooc	float	Others of concern to UNHCR in the country of asylum, year-end stock (UNHCR population group; kept verbatim, not in the hosted total). (unit: persons)
hst	float	Host community members (UNHCR population group; kept verbatim, not in the hosted total). (unit: persons)
returned_refugees	float	Refugees who returned from this country of asylum during the year (flow, not a stock; excluded from the hosted total). (unit: persons)

hosted_total	float	Derived: refugees + asylum_seekers + oip — the cross-border components of UNHCR's 'People forced to flee' definition hosted in the country of asylum. The oip component (others in need of international protection) is folded in where reported (2018+; the raw oip series stays available via the raw unhcr_displaced_population dyads). Null only when all three groups are null. Excludes UNRWA-mandate Palestine refugees (not in this API). (unit: persons)
host_share_global	float	Derived: hosted_total / that year's global hosted total (sum over all asylum countries) — each host's share of the world's hosted displaced population; null where the hosted total is null. (unit: share)
population	float	Total population from World Bank WDI SP.POP.TOTL (CC BY 4.0), joined on iso3; the series starts in 1960, so pre-1960 values are honestly null (as are rows whose asylum country has no ISO3 match, e.g. the API's 'Unknown' bucket). (unit: persons)
hosted_per_100k	float	Derived: hosted_total / population x 100,000 — the per-capita hosting burden; null before 1960 (no WDI population) or where either input is null. (unit: persons per 100,000 population)
hosted_change_10y	float	Derived: trailing 10-year change of hosted_total; null when the base year is absent. (unit: persons)
hosted_change_1y	float	Derived: year-on-year change of hosted_total; null when the prior year is absent. (unit: persons)
hosting_rank	integer	Rank of hosted_total within the year (1 = most hosted, the burden lens); null where the total is null. (unit: rank)
burden_flag	integer	1 when hosted_total reaches 250,000 people (analytic cutoff, own definition); null when the total is null.
mega_burden_flag	integer	1 when hosted_total reaches 1,000,000 people (analytic cutoff, own definition); null when the total is null.
row_hash	string	Deterministic 12-hex row identity hash (asylum_iso3\|year).
