Monthly Canadian inflation divergence intelligence from Statistics Canada's Consumer Price Index (table 18-10-0004-01, 2002 = 100, not seasonally adjusted): YoY/MoM/3-month-annualized inflation for Canada, the 10 provinces and the 3 territorial capitals, each province's gap to the national YoY rate, a per-month provincial inflation rank (1 = hottest), a documented 0-100 inflation heat score (gap + acceleration), accelerating / above-national flags, and the top basket-component driver of each province-month's divergence (8 major components). Index history from the sibling raw statcan_cpi vector curation, verified 2026-09-26 against the full-table CSV download. Caveats: not seasonally adjusted; the latest published month is occasionally revised; territorial figures are the published territorial-capital series. yoy_pct	float	Headline inflation rate: year-over-year percent change of the all-items index. (unit: percent)
mom_pct	float	Month-over-month percent change of the all-items index. Noisy: the index is not seasonally adjusted, so this carries ordinary seasonal patterns. (unit: percent)
ann_3m_pct	float	Three-month change of the all-items index expressed at an annual rate: ((idx_t / idx_{t-3}) ** 4 - 1) * 100. (unit: percent (annualized))
yoy_gap_pp	float	The geography's YoY rate minus Canada's YoY rate, in percentage points. Null for the Canada row. (unit: pp)
yoy_rank	integer	Per-month rank of yoy_pct across the 10 provinces (1 = hottest inflation). Null for Canada and the territories. (unit: rank)
inflation_heat_score	float	Documented 0-100 composite computed within each month across the 10 provinces: 100 * (0.6 * (clip(gap, -2, +2) + 2) / 4 + 0.4 * (clip(accel, -1, +1) + 1) / 2), where gap is yoy_gap_pp and accel is the month-over-month change of yoy_pct (pp). 50 = running with the pack; 100 = the hottest gap (+2pp) and fastest acceleration (+1pp) that month. (unit: score 0-100)
accelerating_flag	integer	1 when yoy_pct rose versus the previous month. (unit: binary)
above_national_flag	integer	1 when yoy_gap_pp > 0 (inflation running hotter than national). (unit: binary)
top_driver_component	string	The CPI basket component (of the 8 major components) whose YoY rate sits furthest above its own Canada-wide YoY rate in this province-month. Deterministic tie-break by fixed component order. Null for Iqaluit (all-items only) and wherever a needed cell is missing.
top_driver_gap_pp	float	The top driver's YoY gap versus its Canada-wide component YoY, in percentage points. (unit: pp)
shelter_yoy_pct	float	Year-over-year percent change of the shelter component index in this geography. (unit: percent)
food_yoy_pct	float	Year-over-year percent change of the food component index in this geography. (unit: percent)
source_table	string	StatCan product ID behind the row (18100004).
row_hash	string	Deterministic 16-hex row hash of province_code + month (idempotency).
