SDG 8.6.1: youth NEET rate by sex (annual)
Share of youth aged 15-24 not in education, employment or training (NEET) by sex, annual, for 276 countries, territories and ILO regional aggregates (country-level 2000 to 2025; 12,791 observations), from ILOSTAT national labour force surveys and ILO-STATISTICS microdata processing — dataflow DF_SDG_0861_SEX_RT. This dataflow carries no separate age dimension: the 15-24 age band is baked into the SDG 8.6.1 indicator definition. Method: NEET youth as a percentage of the total youth population. Units: percent. Caveats: education/training participation is measured from national surveys whose reference definitions vary (formal vs non-formal education); country-year coverage is uneven (e.g. India publishes intermittently); the ILO also publishes modelled 2026-2027 rows for regional aggregates (not countries); figures are revised when the ILO publishes a new vintage. Complements the catalog's Europe-only Eurostat NEET panels with global coverage including Canada and the United States.
