NEET rate, 15-29 (annual, Europe)

Annual share of 15-29 year olds neither in employment nor in education or training (the NEET rate), for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset edat_lfse_20 ('Young persons neither in employment nor in education and training by labour status (NEET rates)'), filtered to sex=T ('Total'), age=Y15-29 ('From 15 to 29 years', the EU headline band), training=NO_FE_NO_NFE ('Neither formal nor non-formal education or training'), wstatus=NEMP ('Not employed persons') and unit=PC ('Percentage'). Each row is one (year, country): the share of the 15-29 population that is not employed and not in any formal or non-formal education or training. Method: Eurostat compiles the EU Labour Force Survey microdata transmitted by the member states; a young person counts as NEET only when both conditions hold (not employed AND not in education or training). Units: percent of the 15-29 population. Caveats: national LFS redesigns cause breaks in some series; the rate mixes the unemployed with the inactive (that split is not in this dataset); the EU27_2020 and EA aggregates are included as published; the UK and other non-EU/EFTA/non-candidate countries are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule.
