Income quintile share ratio S80/S20 by age group (annual)

Annual income quintile share ratio S80/S20 broken down by age group - the total income received by the 20% of the population with the highest equivalised disposable income divided by that received by the 20% with the lowest, computed separately for the under-65 population ('Less than 65 years') and the 65+ population ('65 years or over') - for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset ilc_di11 ('Income quintile share ratio S80/S20 for disposable income by sex and age group'), filtered to age=Y_LT65/Y_GE65, sex=T, unit=RAT (ratio). It extends the headline dataset 'income-quintile-share-ratio-annual' (the age=TOTAL slice of the same table). Each row is one (year, country, age group). Method: Eurostat compiles EU-SILC microdata transmitted by the member states; income is equivalised disposable income (modified OECD equivalence scale); the ratio is >= 1 by construction - larger values mean more unequal income distributions; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: ratio (dimensionless). Caveats: national EU-SILC redesigns create series breaks for some countries (flagged in Eurostat metadata); working-age inequality is markedly higher than 65+ inequality in the large majority of published country-years (pension income compresses the older distribution, kept verbatim); the UK and Kosovo/XK are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule.
