ECB lending rate: loans to households for house purchase
Monthly bank lending rate on new loans to euro-area households for house purchase, from the ECB's MFI interest rate statistics (dataflow MIR). The series is the annualised agreed rate on new business, all original maturities and rate-fixation periods, covering the euro area (U2), published monthly from 2000-01. These are the borrowing costs households face on new mortgage lending — the headline household-lending indicator in the ECB's monthly MFI interest rate press release. European Central Bank statistics; reuse is free with attribution under the ESCB statistics reuse policy. Units: percent per annum.
