Canadian field-crop harvest intelligence (annual)

Annual Canadian field-crop harvest intelligence from Statistics Canada table 32-10-0359-01 (principal field crops, metric units): seeded area (hectares), average yield (kilograms per hectare) and production (metric tonnes) for 12 crops — all, durum and spring wheat, barley, oats, canola, corn for grain, soybeans, dry peas, lentils, flaxseed and rye — across Canada and the provinces where each crop is meaningfully grown (79 crop x province series, 237 vectors, complete annual record 2014 onward). Each series is scored against its own recent agronomic trend: yield_gap_z is the current yield's deviation from the trailing-5-year mean in standard deviations (the harvest-surprise signal, scored from 2019 onward), and a documented 0-100 harvest_outlook_score min-maxes the clipped yield gap within each crop-year across peer provinces with a per-crop-year harvest rank. Bumper (z >= 1.0) and shortfall (z <= -1.0) flags mark standout harvests, province production shares and Canada-level yield context are carried on every row, and year-over-year change is computed for all three dispositions. Caveats: the latest year is provisional and may be revised; yields are simple reported averages, not experimental measurements; upstream suppressions are dropped with a loud gate (none in the curated window). Coverage: Canada + up to 9 provinces per crop, 2014 to the latest published year, yearly granularity. Provenance: Statistics Canada Web Data Service (keyless WDS), 237 curated vector ids verified against the full-table CSV; Statistics Canada Open Licence (commercial reuse allowed; attribution required). Primary key: (crop_code, geo_code, year). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3, always CAN), year. Cadence: yearly.
