Electric power transmission and distribution losses
Electric power transmission and distribution losses as a share of total output, for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). Losses in transmission between sources of supply and points of distribution and in the distribution to consumers, including pilferage, expressed as a share of total output. The World Bank publishes the indicator in the World Development Indicators from the IEA Energy Statistics Data Browser (accessed 2025-03-25). It complements the connector's renewable-electricity-output-share and access-to-electricity datasets: grid efficiency alongside generation mix and access. The 8-country panel is covered 2000-2024 (China and India latest published 2023) - genuine upstream gaps, kept verbatim, never interpolated. Units: % of output.
