US federal interest-burden intelligence (monthly)
Monthly intelligence on the U.S. federal interest burden — how much of the budget debt service consumes — from the Treasury Monthly Treasury Statement table 9 (function 900 Net Interest, function 050 National Defense, total outlays, total receipts, customs duties) joined to the official average interest rate on Treasury securities (keyless FiscalData APIs). Each row is one calendar month (2015-03 -> present, MTS lags ~2 weeks): raw monthly amounts plus trailing-12-month sums, the deficit TTM, interest share of outlays, the interest-vs-defense ratio, interest per customs-duty dollar, the official effective rate, year-over-year TTM interest growth, and a documented 0-100 interest_burden_score ranked as burden_rank with record_interest_flag, interest_exceeds_defense_flag, and first_trillion_interest_month_flag. Units: USD millions (monthly), USD billions (trailing-12m), percent, ratios, scores. Caveats: nominal USD; budget outlays, not cash flows; MTS publishes ~2 weeks after month-end. Primary key: (record_date). Cadence: monthly; as_of is the latest published MTS month, so identical input produces an identical content hash. U.S. federal government work (public domain) — commercial_use = yes, attribution required. Sample use: track interest_burden_score and interest_vs_defense_ratio for the fiscal cost of the national debt.
