U.S. federal debt to the penny, daily
Daily U.S. federal debt outstanding from the Bureau of the Fiscal Service's Debt to the Penny dataset: debt held by the public, intragovernmental holdings, and total public debt outstanding, in dollars. Published every business day. Total debt outstanding from 1993-04-01; the held-by-public / intragovernmental split is published from 1997-09-30 (earlier dates carry only the total).

| value | float | Observed value as a number. Fiscal Data returns missing observations as the string "null"; these become null here. For the MTS deficit/surplus series a positive value means a deficit (outlays exceeded receipts). |
