Electricity available to market: year-on-year change (monthly)
Monthly year-on-year percentage change of electricity available to the internal market, not seasonally adjusted, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidates and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset nrg_cb_eim ('Electricity available to internal market'), filtered to freq=M and unit=PCH_M12_NSA ('Percentage change m/m-12 (NSA)'). Each row is one (month, country). Negative values are genuine demand declines and are kept; the YoY series is the companion of 'electricity-available-to-market-monthly' (the GWh levels) - it strips the strong heating/cooling seasonality visible in the levels (e.g. DEU 2025-04 = -3.67%, FRA 2025-02 = +6.74%). Method: Eurostat compiles monthly energy statistics transmitted by the member states; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: percent, NSA. Caveats: recent months are provisional and revised; the UK and Kosovo (XK) are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule; the EU27_2020, EA21, EA20 and EA19 aggregates are included as published. Coverage: 39 geographic units after the geo rule, 2009-01 to the present (the YoY series starts a year after the levels series by construction), monthly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (month, country_code). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), month. Cadence: refreshed monthly; Eurostat updates the table with roughly a two-month lag. Sample use: filter country_code='FRA' to see France's month-on-month recovery against the nuclear-outage troughs.
