At-risk-of-poverty thresholds (median income, PPS)

Annual at-risk-of-poverty thresholds - the poverty line itself, as a monetary amount in purchasing power standards, at 40%, 50%, 60% and 70% of the national median equivalised income, for one adult, two adults, and two adults with two children under 14 (EU-SILC). Eurostat dataset ilc_li01 ('At-risk-of-poverty thresholds'), filtered to freq=A, statinfo=MED_EI ('Median equivalised income'), unit=PPS ('Purchasing power standard'), hhcomp=A1 ('One adult'), A2 ('Two adults'), A2_CH2_LT14 ('Two adults with two children younger than 14 years'), rskpovth=B_40/B_50/B_60/B_70 ('Below 40/50/60/70%'). Each row is one (year, country, household type). Method: Eurostat compiles EU-SILC microdata transmitted by the member states; the thresholds are derived from median equivalised disposable income after social transfers and rescaled by the modified OECD equivalence scale across household types (a two-adult household is 1.5x the single-adult threshold, two adults with two children under 14 is 2.1x - ratios hold exactly in the published data). Non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries (the UK and Kosovo/XK) are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: purchasing power standards (PPS). Caveats: EU-SILC income data refer to the year before the survey year; the 2021 EU-SILC methodological revision breaks comparability with pre-2021 values for some countries; the table publishes no EU/EA aggregates - only national statistics; the UK and XK are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule. Coverage: 37 geographic units, 35 after the geo rule, 1995 to the present, annual, in three household types. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (year, country_code, household_type). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), year. Cadence: refreshed yearly; Eurostat updates EU-SILC indicators in autumn. Sample use: filter household_type='A1' to track the single-adult poverty line across Europe over time.
