Adult learning participation rate (annual, Europe)

Annual share of 25-64 year olds who participated in formal or non-formal education or training in the four weeks preceding the EU Labour Force Survey interview, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat dataset trng_lfse_01 ('Participation rate in education and training (last 4 weeks)'), filtered to sex=T, age=Y25-64, unit=PC - the EU headline 'lifelong learning' indicator (part of the European Pillar of Social Rights action plan monitoring framework). Each row is one (year, country). Method: Eurostat compiles the EU Labour Force Survey microdata transmitted by the member states; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets; the UK is dropped). Units: percent of the 25-64 population. Caveats: the rate measures participation, not intensity or outcomes; national LFS redesigns cause breaks in some series; the EU27_2020 and EA21 aggregates are included as published. Coverage: 37 geographic units after the geo rule, 1992 to the present, annual.
