Statistics Canada — police-reported crime
Annual police-reported crime incidents (counts) from Statistics Canada's Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (table 35-10-0177-01): incidents that came to the attention of police and were substantiated, for Canada and the 13 provinces and territories, by 10 headline UCR violation aggregates — total all violations, Criminal Code violations (including/excluding traffic), violent crime, homicide, property crime, other Criminal Code violations, Criminal Code traffic violations, drug violations and other Federal Statute violations. Coverage 1998 to the present (Nunavut begins 1999), annual, counts of incidents. Caveats: police-reported incidents only — victimization surveys find higher rates; genuine upstream gaps are kept missing, never zero-filled; the latest year is occasionally revised the following July.
