At-risk-of-poverty rate, annual (60% of median income)

Annual at-risk-of-poverty rate: the share of the population with an equivalised disposable income below 60% of the national median (after social transfers), for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and EU/euro-area aggregates. Eurostat headline indicator tespm010 ('People at risk of poverty or social exclusion'), served from the same EU-SILC dissemination table as ilc_li02, filtered to the 60%-of-median threshold (rskpovth=B_60, statinfo=MED_EI), total population, both sexes. Each row is one (year, country). Method: Eurostat compiles EU-SILC microdata transmitted by the member states; equivalised income divides household income by the modified OECD equivalence scale; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: percent of population. Caveats: EU-SILC income data refer to the year before the survey year; the 2021 EU-SILC methodological revision breaks comparability with pre-2021 values for some countries; the UK series ends in 2019 and Kosovo (XK) is dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule; the EU, EU27_2020, EU28, EA and EA21 aggregates are included as published. Coverage: 39 geographic units after the geo rule, 2014 to the present, annual. Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), year. Cadence: refreshed yearly; Eurostat updates EU-SILC indicators in autumn. Sample use: filter country_code='ROU' to track Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate over time.
