Eurostat
Monthly air passengers carried (embarked + disembarked) at airports, summed to reporting country, for EU member states, EFTA countries and EU candidate countries. Eurostat dataset avia_paoa ('Air passenger transport by reporting country'), filtered to monthly frequency, passengers carried, all schedules and all transport coverage. Each row is one (month, country): passengers carried at that country's airports. Method: Eurostat compiles airport returns; rep_airp codes ('<CC>_<ICAO>') are aggregated to their country prefix and non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: passengers (count). Caveats: a passenger changing planes is counted at each airport; recent months are provisional and revised. Coverage: 1993-01 to the present, monthly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (month, country_code). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), month. Cadence: refreshed monthly. Sample use: filter country_code='ESP' to track Spanish air traffic over time.
Quarterly gross weight of seaborne goods handled in main ports (inwards + outwards), by reporting country, for EU maritime countries and the EU27 aggregate. Eurostat dataset mar_qg_qm_cwh ('Gross weight of seaborne goods handled in main ports, by type of cargo'), filtered to thousand tonnes. Each row is one (quarter, country): gross weight of goods handled. Method: Eurostat compiles port returns; the dataset is published at country level (no port detail). Units: thousand tonnes. Caveats: quarterly port figures are provisional and revised; the EU27_2020 aggregate row is included as published. Coverage: 2005-Q1 to the present, quarterly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (quarter, country_code).
