    Monthly AI/ML research-velocity signals derived from the OpenAlex keyless API (2010 ->): monthly counts of works tagged 'Artificial intelligence' and 'Machine learning', plus AI's share of all indexed works, with 3-month changes, 30-month change volatility, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing-12-month baseline, naive-drift 1-month forecasts, year-over-year growth, research acceleration, field-share z-scores, and breakout flags. The tech/digital R&D-attention companion to the macro set. Raw data: OpenAlex (keyless API, CC0).

    Annual counts of scholarly works tagged with the OpenAlex 'Artificial intelligence' concept (C154945302), by author country and publication year - the country-level companion to the global monthly AI research-velocity signals. Provenance: OpenAlex Works API (https://api.openalex.org/works), keyless, CC0-1.0. Counts include all work types OpenAlex indexes (journal articles, preprints, conference papers, datasets); a work with authors in several countries counts once per country. Coverage: publication years 2015 to the present; years before 2015 are not collected. Kosovo appears under the de facto code XKX (ISO 3166-1 assigns it no code). Primary key: (country_code, year); country_code is ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 and joins other hub country datasets. Cadence: refreshed monthly; the current year is partial and its counts grow as OpenAlex indexes new works. Nullability: works_count is never null (0 allowed); country_code, country_name and year are never null. Sample use: filter year = the latest full year and order by works_count desc for the current country ranking.

    Global R&D expenditure signals (innovation intensity)

    Annual global R&D-intensity signals from the World Bank World Development Indicators (GB.XPD.RSDV.GD.ZS, ~193 economies, 1996 -> 2024): 5-year changes, OLS trend slopes, 3-sigma anomaly flags, 5-year extrapolation forecasts, 10-year intensity z-scores, per-year intensity ranks, and innovation-leader (>=3%), laggard (<0.5%), and catch-up gauges. The innovation-input lens — R&D spending as % of GDP is the standard proxy for an economy's investment in future productivity. Country codes validated via the shared normalization layer. Raw indicator: UNESCO Institute for Statistics via the World Bank (keyless API).
