Federal Reserve G.17 US industrial-production industry breadth intelligence
Monthly US industrial-cycle breadth gauges from the Federal Reserve G.17 release: computed diffusion indexes over 21 industries (share expanding, 1-month/3-month/12-month), the Fed's official Table 6 diffusion indexes for cross-check, median industry momentum, headline IP and capacity-utilization context, and a documented breadth regime (broad/narrow expansion, mixed, narrow/broad contraction). From 1972-01, the first month all industries report. US federal public domain (commercial reuse allowed); source: Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Monthly US industrial-production breadth intelligence from the Federal Reserve G.17 release (Table 4, seasonally adjusted, 2017=100): 19 NAICS manufacturing industries plus mining and electric & gas utilities, with month-on-month, 3-month-annualized and year-on-year momentum, capacity utilization and its gap versus the trailing 10-year mean (manufacturing only), expansion flags, and a documented 0-100 industrial-health score ranked per month (h1 leaders .. h4 laggards). Durable- and nondurable-manufacturing aggregates included for context. Full history from 1972 (mining 1919, utilities 1939). US federal public domain (commercial reuse allowed); source: Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Output & Business-Cycle Signals (derived)
Signals derived from FRED's US output and business-cycle series: 30-period annualized volatility of monthly changes, 3-month momentum, year-over-year percent change, 3-sigma anomaly flags, naive-drift 1-month forecasts, a per-month cross-series volatility rank, and the NBER recession-month streak counter. Covers INDPRO (industrial production index), TCU (capacity utilization), DGORDER (manufacturers' durable goods orders) and USREC (NBER recession indicator). All rows are normalized to country_code USA so they join cleanly with US macro data. Raw series: Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED).
