Global Health-Expenditure Signals (derived)
Yearly global health-expenditure signals from the World Bank WDI (current health expenditure % of GDP, ~190 economies, 2000 ->): 5-year and 10-year changes, 10-year trend slopes, 3-sigma anomaly flags, 5-year extrapolations, spending z-scores, per-year cross-economy ranks, and high / low / rising spender flags. The health-system *input* lens — the spending side of the outcomes in global-health-outcome-signals. All country labels normalized via hub.normalize (ISO alpha-3). Raw data: World Bank WDI (keyless); World Bank terms are non-commercial for derived products.

Current health expenditure as a share of GDP, for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). Current health expenditure covers total spending on health goods and services (preventive and curative care, medical goods, governance and health-system administration) by public and private payers; capital expenditure on health is excluded. The World Bank publishes the indicator in the World Development Indicators from the WHO Global Health Expenditure Database. It pairs with the connector's life-expectancy dataset and the under-5-mortality dataset added alongside it: health-spending input against longevity and child-mortality outcomes. The 8-country panel is covered 2000-2024 in the live vintage (Canada, Germany, France and the UK publish through 2024; the others through 2023) - genuine upstream reporting lags, kept verbatim, never interpolated. Units: % of GDP.
