Harmonized-Unemployment Signals (derived)
Monthly harmonized-unemployment signals for 20 major economies from the OECD's Infra-Annual Labor Statistics (ILO-harmonized definition, ages 15+, seasonally adjusted; redistributed by FRED): 3-month momentum, 30-month change volatility, 3-sigma anomaly flags vs a trailing 12-month baseline, drift forecasts, per-month cross-country ranks, a 3-year labor-stress z-score, an elevated-labor-market flag, and a cross-country dispersion gauge for global labor-divergence. The cross-country companion to us-labor-market-signals (US depth) and euro-area-unemployment-signals (euro breadth): one comparable measure for spotting which labor markets crack first. All rows normalized to ISO alpha-3 country codes so they join cleanly with every other global dataset. Raw series: OECD via FRED (commercial re-use of OECD data requires prior permission — flagged in the UI).

The obs_status column flags provisional (P) and estimated (E) observations, mostly in the latest quarter.
Quarterly labour-force participation rates, percent of the working-age population 15+, from the OECD Labour Force Statistics (OECD measure LF_WAP): 45 OECD members, partner economies and aggregates (1976-Q1->2026-Q2 for Canada, 1955-Q1->2026-Q2 for the USA as of 2026-09-27), by sex (total/male/female). Method: the labour force (employed plus unemployed) as a share of the population 15+, harmonized under common ILO definitions; every series is calendar-and-seasonally adjusted. Unit: percent. Brazil is a known stale series (ends 2015-Q3) and is kept as published. The obs_status column flags provisional (P) and estimated (E) observations, mostly in the latest quarter.

Method: the OECD harmonizes national labour-force surveys under common ILO definitions; every series is calendar-and-seasonally adjusted. Unit: percent. This is observed monthly data, not a forecast: the existing oecd_unemployment_rate_annual dataset (Economic Outlook) mixes observed history with two-year projections.
