Eurostat
Annual gross available energy by energy product (thousand tonnes of oil equivalent), for EU member states, EFTA countries and EU candidate countries. Eurostat dataset nrg_bal_c ('Simplified energy balances'), filtered to gross available energy (GAE) in ktoe. Each row is one (year, country, product): the TOTAL across all products plus 71 products from solid fossil fuels, oil and gas through nuclear to renewables. Method: Eurostat compiles national energy balances; non-EU/EFTA/candidate countries are dropped (same licensing rule as the other Eurostat datasets). Units: thousand tonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe). Caveats: recent years are provisional and revised; the EU27_2020 aggregate row is included as published. Coverage: 1990 to the present, yearly. Provenance: Eurostat keyless JSON-stat API, free reuse with attribution (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU) - please cite Eurostat. Primary key: (year, country_code, product_code). Join keys: country_code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; 'EU27_2020' for the EU aggregate), year. Cadence: refreshed yearly. Sample use: filter product_code='TOTAL' and country_code='FRA' to track France's total energy supply.
