Bank for International Settlements
Monthly end-of-period central bank policy (target) rates published by the BIS, from 1945 to the latest month. Bank for International Settlements, BIS Data Portal.
Global Policy Divergence Signals (derived)
Value-added monetary-policy signals derived from the free Bank for International Settlements central-bank policy-rate and long-run consumer-price datasets: per-country cutting/hiking cycle stance, 6-month rate momentum, real policy rates (rate minus CPI year-on-year), 5-year stance z-scores, 3-sigma anomaly flags, plus per-month global gauges — cross-country policy dispersion and the share of central banks cutting — so users can see easing/tightening cycles diverging in one frame. All computation is local pandas/numpy; no paid models or APIs.
European Central Bank
The three key ECB interest rates set by the Governing Council — the deposit facility rate, the main refinancing operations rate (fixed-rate tenders) and the marginal lending facility rate — from the ECB's financial market statistics (dataflow FM). Each rate is a business-daily series published on dates of changes, running from 1999-01-01 to the latest Governing Council decision. Together the three series trace the policy corridor: the deposit facility rate is the floor banks earn on overnight deposits with the Eurosystem, the main refinancing rate is the cost of the ECB's weekly liquidity operations, and the marginal lending facility rate is the ceiling for overnight borrowing. The series capture every policy cycle since the euro's launch, including the 2014-2022 negative-rate era (deposit facility at -0.50%) and the 2022-2023 hiking cycle that peaked at 4.00%.
