USGS Earthquake Hazards Program
Every magnitude 5.0+ earthquake in the USGS ANSS Comprehensive Catalog since 2020-01-01: origin time, epicenter, depth, magnitude and type, felt reports, tsunami flag, and review status. Provenance: USGS Earthquake Hazards Program keyless GeoJSON API (https://earthquake.usgs.gov/fdsnws/event/1/query), U.S. public domain - please credit the U.S. Geological Survey. Coverage: worldwide, magnitude 5.0 and above, from 2020-01-01 to the present; smaller quakes are not collected, and detection completeness varies by region and network density. Primary key: event_id (USGS event id, e.g. 'us7000tigd'). The feed replays the full window on each refresh, so revised magnitudes, depths and locations update existing rows in place (see updated_utc). Cadence: refreshed daily; new quakes typically appear within minutes to hours of occurrence. Nullability: event_id, time_utc, latitude, longitude, magnitude and tsunami_flag are never null; depth_km may be null when the feed omits it. Sample use: filter time_utc >= the start of a year and order by magnitude desc for that year's largest events.
