US Durable-Goods Orders Intelligence (FRED, keyless)
Monthly US durable-goods new-orders intelligence panel, 1992-02 onward: manufacturers' new orders for durable goods (millions of dollars, seasonally adjusted; FRED DGORDER, U.S. Census Bureau M3 survey, redistributed keyless via FRED fredgraph.csv). Carries 1-month and 12-month changes (levels and percents), the 3-month annualized percent change, and a contraction_flag marking months with fewer new orders than a year earlier. Method caveats: the keyless endpoint serves 1992-02 onward (the FRED API carries 1958-02+); Census revises history with each vintage; levels are monthly SA dollars, not annualized; the 2009-01 GFC trough (151,085) and 2020-04 COVID dip (165,166) are genuine upstream prints kept verbatim. One row per month x USA; in-window nulls fail loudly, never imputed. Who joins this: B2B sales teams join order momentum on year_month + country_code to time outreach; industrial-supply merchants use orders_yoy_pct / contraction_flag as demand features; subscription businesses weight capex-exposed accounts by the contraction regime.
