School enrollment, primary (% gross)
The gross enrollment ratio for primary education is total enrollment at that level, regardless of age, expressed as a percentage of the population of the official primary-school age group. It is sourced from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics via the World Bank World Development Indicators, and is updated annually. The ratio can exceed 100% because of late entry, grade repetition, and over-age or under-age enrollment. Values are null where national statistics are unavailable; sparse survey years are never zero-filled.
