Air transport, freight (million ton-km)
Volume of freight, express, and diplomatic bags carried on each flight stage (operation of an aircraft from takeoff to its next landing), measured in metric tons times kilometers traveled, for the 8-country panel (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, India). The World Bank publishes the indicator in the World Development Indicators from the ICAO Civil Aviation Statistics of the World (International Civil Aviation Organization) plus ICAO staff estimates. Pairs with the connector's air-transport-passengers dataset (cargo vs passenger volume on the same carriers). The 8-country panel is covered 2000-2023 with no upstream gaps observed; values are null where national statistics are unavailable and are never interpolated. Units: million ton-km.
