Canadian provincial GDP growth-divergence intelligence (annual)
Annual Canadian provincial GDP intelligence from Statistics Canada (table 36-10-0711-01, GDP at basic prices by industry, 1997-2025, chained 2017 dollars, All industries): real GDP levels for the 10 provinces and 3 territories plus a synthesized Canada row (sum of the 13 geographies — the table publishes no national aggregate), with year-over-year real growth, share of the national economy, per-year growth ranks (1 = fastest), growth contributions in percentage points (a chain-weighted approximation, documented), each computed growth rate cross-checked against StatCan's own published percent-change series (identity gate), trailing 5- and 10-year CAGRs, and recession / two-year-decline / record-high flags. Caveats: the published percent-change series starts in 1998; Nunavut's series starts in 1999; growth/contribution columns are null for 1997; CAGRs need a complete trailing window; nominal dollars (ended upstream in 2022) are excluded; the latest year is preliminary and revisable.
