Weighted clearance rates by measure, Canada (annual)

Annual weighted clearance rates from Statistics Canada's Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (table 35-10-0026-01): the percentage of police-reported crime cleared by charge or otherwise, with each cleared incident weighted by its seriousness — a higher rate means police cleared more (or more serious) crime. For Canada and the 13 provinces and territories, by measure: total weighted clearance rate, violent weighted clearance rate, non-violent weighted clearance rate, in percent. Coverage 1998 to the present (Nunavut begins 1999), annual. Caveats: clearance rates reflect police reporting and charging practices as well as crime itself; rates for the territories and PEI are noisy because small populations amplify single incidents; genuine upstream gaps are kept missing, never zero-filled; the latest year is occasionally revised the following July.
