Brazil quarterly unemployment rate by state (IBGE PNAD Contínua)
Quarterly unemployment-rate intelligence from Brazil's official PNAD Contínua household survey via the keyless IBGE SIDRA API (table 6468, variable 4099): one row per calendar quarter per geography — Brazil, the 5 macro-regions and the 27 federative units — 2012-Q1 to the latest published quarter. Each row carries the published unemployment rate of persons 14+ in the reference week plus derived signals: quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year changes in percentage points (exact-spacing rule, never interpolated), structural change since the 2012-Q1 series start, the gap vs the national rate that quarter, and — for states — the within-quarter rank (1 = lowest rate) and labor-tightness quartile tier. Method: three SIDRA values calls (national/regional/state levels), fail-loud geo and quarter identity gates, deterministic 16-hex row hashes. Caveats: quarterly cadence with ~45-day publication lag; rates are survey estimates. Brazil's federal open-data framework (Lei 12.527/2011, Decreto 8.777/2016) fosters reuse including commercial use, with attribution to IBGE.

| year | integer | Calendar year of the reference quarter. |
| quarter | integer | Quarter number within the year (1-4). |
| geo_level | string | Territorial level: country (Brasil), region (one of the 5 macro-regions), or state (one of the 27 federative units). |
| geo_code | string | IBGE territorial code. Collides across levels by design (Brasil=1, Norte region=1) — use with geo_level. |
| geo_name | string | Geography name in Portuguese as published by IBGE. |
| unemployment_rate_pct | float | Unemployment rate of persons aged 14+ in the reference week (variable 4099), as published. (unit: percent) |

| national_gap_pp | float | The geography's rate minus Brazil's national rate for the same quarter — the regional dispersion signal. Null on the Brazil row. (unit: percentage points) |
| state_rank | integer | Within-quarter dense rank of the 27 federative units by unemployment rate (1 = lowest rate, tightest labor market; ties share a rank). Null for country/region rows. |
| labor_tightness_tier | string | Quartile tier of the rate within the quarter's 27 states: t1 (tightest quarter) .. t4 (slackest). Null for country/region rows. |
| as_of | string | Fetch date (ISO) of the snapshot build. (unit: ISO date) |
| source_url | string | The SIDRA values API URL the panel was parsed from. (unit: URL) |
| row_hash | string | Deterministic 16-hex SHA-256 of 'IBGE-PNAD|period|geo_level|geo_code' — stable row identity across snapshots. |
