Annual municipal waste generated per inhabitant in kilograms, for EU member states, EFTA countries, EU candidate countries and the EU27 aggregate. Eurostat dataset env_wasmun ('Municipal waste by waste management operations'), filtered to wst_oper=GEN ('Waste generated'), freq=A and unit=KG_HAB ('Kilograms per capita'). Each row is one (year, country). Method: Eurostat compiles the series from annual waste statistics transmitted by the member states; municipal waste is waste from households and waste similar in nature from commerce, trade, small businesses, office buildings and institutions. Units: kilograms per inhabitant. Caveats: recent years are provisional and revised; national definitions of municipal waste differ slightly, so level comparisons across countries are approximate; the UK and Kosovo are dropped by the connector's commercial-use geo rule; the EU27_2020 aggregate is included as published.
